I'm The "Boss"
You know those quizzes you see online not the stupid BuzzFeed ones but the ones that may have some validity to them. Their Myers Brigg quality of online test, your friend has taken it, and now you're clicking around the inter-web, so you figure why not. I stumbled upon the website Women Love Power. Off my initial click, I was already curious because by the name. In my former life, I like to think that I was an investigator of some sorts so unlike many people that go straight for the juice I wanted to read about the author. Not only does the creator Ayesha have some serious credentials she's beautiful & #goals.
After scavenging through her site, I started the quiz expecting to only answer 15 or so questions then be told my whole life purpose (sarcasm), but the quiz was a lengthy 100+ questions & while some seemed a bit repetitive overall it was pretty legit. What was more legit were my results The "Boss."
Was I surprised by these results? Honestly not a bit my friends always express how much they appreciate my confident & aloof nature though I rarely view myself as such. So I guess you can call this quiz a confirmation of my "boss-dem." It prompted me to think about what type of Boss I am throughout the article they have several examples of well known female bosses such as the ever so classy bachelor tamer Amal Clooney & the mythical Cleopatra. Those are women I don’t mind being compared to!
The Boss is described as a woman on a mission or the "alpha-woman" she's versed in people & prefers soft power over the more obvious approaches. She can be direct if necessary, but on the inside, she's a sweetheart that needs a man that can compete with & stimulate her in all senses. This is me! I'm an entrepreneur at heart which I credit mostly to my mother. I've been starting businesses since middle school (which I'll get into in a separate post) & after thinking about how gracefully I shuffle between the gym, pilates, classes & other obligations I'm very much the boss. I do have challenges with my boss energy at times being that the world of business is mostly male dominated women have to approach the situation from a different angle, but every situation is different, and regarding my perspective, I am a black woman, but once again we'll save that for another post but being a Black + Woman + Boss + Selene basically makes me the real-life Olivia Pope right?
Do you all have an inner “Boss” energy or do you aspire to active yours? Leave a comment below or just take the quiz on Women Love Power.
